We collect information you provide directly when creating an account, including your email address, display name, and profile information. When you authenticate via Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from those services. During coding sessions, we collect your code submissions, AI chat interactions, and timing data to evaluate your performance and generate scores.
We use your information to: (a) provide and maintain the Service; (b) evaluate your coding sessions and generate performance scores; (c) personalize your experience and suggest relevant challenges; (d) communicate with you about your account and the Service; (e) conduct anonymized research on AI-assisted coding patterns; and (f) improve the platform, including our AI models and scoring systems.
When you use the built-in AI copilot during challenges, we record your prompts, the AI's responses, and how you interact with AI-generated suggestions. This data is used to score your AI collaboration skills and, in aggregated and anonymized form, to study how developers work with AI tools. Your individual session data is never shared with third parties in identifiable form.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with: (a) service providers who help us operate the platform (e.g., hosting, authentication); (b) research partners, but only in anonymized and aggregated form; and (c) law enforcement or regulatory bodies when required by law. If you make your profile public, your display name, username, and aggregated performance stats may be visible to other users.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Session data (code submissions, AI interactions, scores) is retained to provide you with historical performance insights. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, though anonymized and aggregated data derived from your sessions may be retained for research purposes.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
You have the right to: (a) access your personal data through your account settings; (b) correct inaccurate information; (c) delete your account and associated data; (d) export your data; and (e) opt out of marketing communications. To exercise these rights, visit your account settings or contact us at hello@getsponge.ai.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. We may use anonymous analytics to understand how users interact with the platform. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us at hello@getsponge.ai.
