Services Agreement

Last updated: March 10, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Sponge ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

Sponge is an AI-native coding practice platform. Users solve engineering challenges sourced from production open-source codebases using a browser-based IDE with a built-in AI copilot. The platform evaluates how effectively users collaborate with AI tools, not just whether the code is correct.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use certain features of the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date. You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to: (a) violate any applicable laws or regulations; (b) infringe on the intellectual property rights of others; (c) transmit malicious code or attempt to compromise the security of the Service; (d) harass, abuse, or harm other users; (e) interfere with the proper functioning of the Service; (f) use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service without authorization; or (g) attempt to reverse-engineer the scoring or evaluation systems.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, content, and branding, is owned by Sponge and protected by intellectual property laws. Challenges on the platform are sourced from open-source repositories and are subject to their respective licenses. Code you write during challenges remains yours, but you grant Sponge a non-exclusive license to use anonymized and aggregated data from your sessions for research and platform improvement purposes.

6. AI-Generated Content

The Service includes an AI copilot that generates code suggestions and responses. AI-generated content is provided as-is and may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and validating any AI-generated content before using it. Sponge does not guarantee the correctness, security, or fitness of AI-generated code for any particular purpose.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Sponge does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not guarantee any specific outcomes from using the Service, including but not limited to employment outcomes or skill improvements.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sponge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to Sponge in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings. Sponge may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
